MKG, with offices in NYC and LA, is thrilled to announce a temp to perm opportunity for an Associate Graphic Designer to join our team in the NY office.

The Associate Graphic Designer will play a key role in advancing their basic graphic design skills and mastering MKG’s processes. The ideal candidate should possess a genuine eagerness to dive into a dynamic environment, learn rapidly, and execute programs from initiation to completion. This role will work both independently and collaboratively with close guidance and mentorship from a higher level Designer. They are most often staffed to work under higher level designers on projects of various scales and will develop from being given smaller tasks, to owning small pieces of projects, to owning larger pieces of projects and then finally to a point where they can own and lead 2D on their own small projects, with oversight.

Candidates are expected to reside within commuting distance of the office and be available for in-person collaboration on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Salary Range: $59K-$70K
***This is the minimum + maximum base salary that we, in good faith, are willing to pay at the time of the posting. Salary commensurate with experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE: 

CORE DUTIES: 

  • Work under / with guidance from a Senior Graphic Designer in the creation of all print and digital graphics for campaigns or live events. Graphics could include: social and web assets, printed assets, environmental graphics, signage and wayfinding, branded swag, packaging, digital interfaces, micro-sites, video assets, and more.
  • Support on development and/or roll out of original identity systems and overall graphic art direction for new campaigns or experiential properties
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to enhance creative and visual concepts.
  • Support in the creation of proposal decks and supporting visuals to showcase campaign ideas and concepts to clients.
  • Ensure consistency with brand guidelines and overall aesthetic standards.
  • Produce internal marketing materials to support the agency’s promotional efforts.
  • Support in print vendor communications and print lists
  • Support in creating final files for print production or digital placements
  • Support on-site at load-ins for live events

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Collaborate effectively with Senior Graphic designer and cross-functional teammates including producers, creative strategists, copywriters, and account managers to execute projects efficiently and meet client objectives.
  • Communicate ideas clearly and contribute to creative discussions and critiques.
  • Execute tasks given with attention to detail and follow through, ensuring high-quality work that aligns with direction, feedback and expectations.
  • Adhere to given timelines and deadlines.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, design techniques, and software tools to enhance skills and capabilities.
  • Proactively seek feedback and opportunities for growth to improve design proficiency and contribute to the agency’s success.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 years of professional experience in a related field, including internship experience
  • Demonstrate strength in graphic design and typography with a keen eye for detail.
  • Some level of experience working with brands and brand guidelines.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Efficiently manage time and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Exhibit strong organization and follow-through on all tasks.
  • Embrace feedback positively and contribute creative ideas to enhance project outcomes.
  • Take ownership of work and thrive in a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, with familiarity in Google Slides
  • Knowledge of Invision, Sketch, Webflow, Figma or other digital software/platforms is a plus!
  • Knowledge of AfterEffects and other animation/motion graphics software is also a plus!
