MKG has offices in NYC and LA. Candidates are expected to live within commuting distance of either office and be present for collaborative, in-person work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

$90,000-100,000.00  ***This is the minimum + maximum base salary that we, in good faith, are willing to pay at the time of the posting. Salary commensurate with experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting the Multi-Agency Controller and Multi-Finance CFO in the coordination and execution of assigned projects. In this role, Senior Accountant is responsible for sound, proper and timely execution of all assigned work and helping ensure that financial records are recorded in accordance to GAAP and are timely completed and reported.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Become familiar with products, and financial tools that are used to support the agencies.
  • Balance Sheet analysis and reconciliation that include bank reconciliation, credit card activity, tracking and timely recording and reconciliation.
  • Support current ERP applications NetSuite, Accountability and QuickBooks for MKG, Pixly, Stripe and Pink Sparrow.
  • General ledger accounting recording, journal entries and reporting for all Agencies.
  • Full cycle accounting AP/AR
  • Month end closing and account reconciliations
  • Monthly Bank reconciliations
  • Become familiar with the clients’ names and projects to ensure accurate recording, tracking and reconciliations.
  • Support all aspects of day-to-day of account recording and reporting.
  • Foster a positive relationship with key team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Handle assigned work requests in efficient, timely manner.
  • Maintain communications with appropriate agency and client personnel to ensure that assigned work is handled in a positive, timely and efficient manner.

PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Direct Supervisor: This role reports to the Multi-Agency Controller

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Monthly Financial Closing, Account reconciliation, Business Analysis and Monthly and Quarterly financial reporting.
  •  Communicate effectively orally and in writing
  •  Interact professionally with various levels of Company employees and outside representatives
  •  Prepare reports and correspondence
  •  Represent the Company before Agency Management, Corporate and Clients
  •  Handle highly confidential information
  •  Meet tight time constraints and deadlines
  •  Analyze situations and identify problems
  •  Exercise judgment and resourcefulness in making decisions
  •  Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, and skill set:

  • Master’s Degree in accounting, finance, business, or related fields preferred.
  • Certified Public Account (CPA) title is preferred.
  • 3-8 years’ experience
  • Very knowledgeable with US GAAP
  • Familiar with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Accountability, and Paylocity a plus
